Bren Atkinson
Bren has been a “liner-upper of words for other people”, as she puts it, for over 30 years.
She worked in bars, cleaned hotel rooms and was miserable in a tax office during her studies, which included stays in Germany and the USSR. She then moved from the UK to Switzerland for one year and stayed for 30.
She has worked in publishing, international organisations and as a freelance translator and academic editor, and while doing so has travelled to over 60 countries.
Now lining up her own words, Bren moved to southern France in 2007 and put down roots there.
She and her husband now enjoy a peaceful existence amid olive trees and rolling hills, and are dedicated to their four extremely spoiled cats.
